Statewide Meeting: Centers for Independent Living – Staff and Consumers
On Thursday, December 3, join IHDA and John S. Herring, Sr. of the Illinois Network of Centers for Independent Living (INCIL) for the first of two statewide Blueprint Listening Tour meetings surrounding independent living. We’ll introduce the Housing Blueprint planning process and speak with staff and consumers of independent living facilities and services about their experiences, perspectives, and hopes for the future of housing in their community.
As our world changes, our housing needs change too. Agencies, organizations, and residents across Illinois are working together to build a Housing Blueprint to ensure that we understand and can meet the housing needs of communities across our state both now and in the future.
The Blueprint’s Listening Tour provides the opportunity to meet and engage with residents statewide. IHDA and other partners working on the Blueprint will be hosting these meetings to discuss and listen to residents’ experiences, needs, and hopes surrounding housing in their community. These discussions will help to shape the goals and work of the Housing Blueprint in the years to come.
In order to ensure the safety of residents in light of COVID-19, we will provide an option for virtual attendance at all of our meetings. The option for in-person attendance will vary by meeting dependent on the needs of our hosts across the state.
