Who We Are Now: Housing in Illinois2022-12-22T17:29:17-06:00

The Housing Blueprint is looking at data from across the state to show current available resources, analyze conditions and needs, and work collaboratively with other agencies to provide a snapshot of communities across Illinois. Using public data sources, information provided by partner organizations and agencies, and information about IHDA’s programming and impact, the Housing Blueprint will illustrate conditions, accomplishments, and needs of communities that will help to determine our most important goals for the future and direct our work in the years the come.

The analyses contained within the following section provide a picture of who we are now in Illinois. Market Analyses utilize data provided in publicly available datasets (such as the United States Census Bureau and Bureau of Labor Statistics), as well as data and information provided by organizations and agencies who have partnered with IHDA around the Housing Blueprint. These analyses provide insights to the demographic, economic, and housing conditions of Illinois’ communities. IHDA Programmatic Analyses illustrate investments that the Illinois Housing Development Authority has made to promote affordable homeownership, multifamily development, and community revitalization activity across the state. Together, these analyses can help us understand what accomplishments have been made while also identifying the needs that we have not yet accomplished. Explore the data provided in the sections below, and please contact us if you would like to request an additional analysis or contribute data to the Housing Blueprint’s analyses.
